I can’t remember a time where I didn’t consider myself an artist. Everything I do, everything I look at is considered through a creative lense. I think this ability came from my mother, I remember driving across the desert in my youth on family vacations and my mom would tell us to look out into the landscape and imagine what it was like a million years ago. I would gaze out and think about the land rushing past me and what it may have looked like with dinosaurs roaming through it or with lush vegetation, imagining the colors I would use to re-create the setting in my minds eye. It is with that same curiosity that I approach life today.

My mother was a teacher and artist when I was younger and instilled in all of my family the need for arts education. As an artist I believe it is part of our job to educate the public on the importance of art in our daily lives. That is why the handmade movement is so important. When we forgo the mass produced item for a locally created, handmade functional piece of art you are not only helping to support your local economy but you are purchasing a unique item that can be enjoyed every day, making the routine just a bit special.

It is my hope that my creations inspire others the way that natures creations inspire me.
